Give Thanks in All Circumstances

Today at church Pastor May talked about how we should be thankful in all circumstances. With me, that sermon has always been kinda like, in one ear and out the other because I’d heard it so many times. But today it struck me that Mom and Dad are really a great example of being thankful all the time. With Mom’s daily treatments it must be hard for her to sometimes see the good side of things, but she is always cheerful and happy and she never seems to be self-absorbed. She never goes on and on about how it was HER that has cancer. She always focuses on other people’s problems and tries to help them. Dad, too. He has hard times at the Studio especially after losing Katie, but he’s still happy, too. Sometimes I wish I knew how they did it. Is there some kind of secret? Daniel, though sometimes a pain, is great too. He’s cool with basically any situation and having to deal with changes in schedules. He makes a great older brother to have. Becca is definitely the best sister ever. She’s always laughing and cheery and is handling tough times at college really well. Things are definitely not the easiest for her. Dan is like my second brother. I see him so often and he fits right in with our family. He is awesome. Nana and Popsie are always ready to lend a hand in whatever or hold parties at the Cabin. They have provided lots and lots of stuff for us whenever we need it-from transportation or help with things around the house. I could go on and on and on for days about the Linds and the Karabenshes but I don’t exactly have the time to. What I’m mostly saying is, everyone always says, “I’m thankful for family” but I think it really makes an impact if you stop and think why you’re thankful for your family. It really is amazing. Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!
